I hear it all the time. "I just started a small business. I need a company website but I don't have a lot of money. What do I do?" The first thing I ask someone is "Do you really even need a website?"  It sounds like a stupid question.  Doesn't every small business need a website?

We had a client recently that needed to sell a hardware product with a service plan. This is something that should be fairly simple to accomplish with Ubercart and Recurring Payments

Google's Priority Inbox is a pre-release feature that helps you by prioritizing email automatically based on your usage habits.

I was pretty excited when I watched the intro video and when it rolled out and I saw my colleagues using it I couldn't wait for it to be enabled in my Google Apps account. But it wasn't there....and still wasn't there. I started to get a little antsy, so I resolved to go figure it out.

A website is a pretty personal thing. When you start a conversation with a potential client about what is good and bad about their current website, you have to be pretty cautious.  The person you are talking to may have built the website.  Maybe they built it by hand in notepad and are exceedingly proud of it, secretly fishing for compliments.  One wrong move and you not only offend someone, you also lose a client.

For the IQFamilyTrack website, we had to sell a hardware product with
a service plan. And the service plan had several options. Product Kit
was perfect for the job.

In this four-part series I show you how to create a hardware product,
a service plan product, add attributes and options and bring it all
together in a product kit.

In this last video of the series, I show you how to assemble the various products into a product kit to be purchased as one item.

Blogging is important. It demonstrates your expertise and establishes you in the mind of your clients and potential clients as the guy (or gal) who does what you do. But what should you blog about? Where do those bloggers get their ideas for blogs? Why, other blogs of course!

The best way to find ideas to blog about is to read other blogs. See what other people are doing and follow suit, adding your own personal touch along the way.

Last night I attended the first AllNiter project hosted at Cospace in Austin Texas.  The goal of the event was to develop an iPhone app ready for the app store in 12 hours from 10pm Friday to 10am Saturday.
